Miracles on Rue Masson - February 14, 2022

Salut! Another week filled with miracles. I am so grateful for this week and everything I've learned, we are so busy and I love it with all my heart. First of all, WE GOT TO GO TO CHURCH IN PERSON!! It was seriously one of the best days yet. It was so special to be gathered again as a ward family. To sing French hymns with the little primary kids, hear people I love bear their humble testimonies, and partake of the sacrament. It has been a long 8 weeks since I last had the sacrament. So yesterday was renewing, I felt absolutely filled. My appreciation of the sacrament has really transformed since being on a mission, and I have such a firm testimony of the enabling, renewing, healing, motivating power of the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I will always remember this Sunday. Transfers happened! Sister Chatterley left and I stayed in Montreal. I am so happy to be staying here, Hochelaga is such an amazing area. I got a new companion, and you'll never guess who! SŒUR MORAIS!! I am ...

Holy Ground - February 7, 2022

Bonjour tout le monde! We have had such a busy week! We filled 2 apartments, organized the storage closets, taught so many lessons to our friends, and finally met with some people IN PERSON. It was such a good week. I had some experiences this week that I am going to remember for the rest of my life. I could never describe adequately how apparent the spirit has been in leading this work, it is truly incredible. This week I was just overcome for gratitude for this gospel, and for the amazing opportunity I have to share it with others. One night I was thinking about all of our friends and the miracles we experienced and I just started to cry. I love these people so much! They have all had such a big impact on my life. We received transfer news and sister chatterly and I will be splitting up, so we were just reflecting a lot about our time together here in Montreal. I just had the strongest impression that I am on holy ground. Hochelaga is such a special place. How blessed I am to be ...

Recognize Him Well - January 31, 2022

Allô allô! What a week! Man alive so much happened, I learned so much. We had a mission wide meeting at the beginning of this week about our goals as a mission. It was so motivating. As a mission we want to do better. This week our standard was raised and I felt a marked difference in the work in our area. We have been led to people who are searching for the gospel and it has brought so much joy! The spirit was so strong this week, and I know that God is leading His missionaries. It is the most incredible thing to witness. We are teaching a few families right now and it is my favorite thing. This week we received the most precious photo from the family from Peru, it was the dad and their 3 year old daughter smiling at the picture of jésus in the front of the book of mormon. It is the happiest photo! Literally my favorite picture ever. You can see the joy in their faces! We were talking about it with them and Cynthia, the mom said "elle lui reconnaît bien." which means she r...

Salut!! I hope you all had an amazing week! This week was really good! We had some amazing lessons and our friends are really progressing. We are teaching more people now than we ever were before and I was really humbled this week by their testimonies and their desire to come closer to Christ. I learned a lot this week about the spirit. Since being a missionary I have really realized the importance of personal study, it's one of my favorite times of the day. To start off this new year our mission President challenged us to read the Book of Mormon in 2 transfers, and to look for the two great commandments - loving God, and loving others. This challenge has already grown my testimony so much. I LOVE the Book of Mormon. It has brought me closer to Christ and taught me how I can love my neighbors. Since reading it this time, it has become so much more real to me. I know that the things written in that book are true, and that the prophets were called of God. Studying the Book of M...

Miracles in the Medium - January 17, 2022

Bonjour bonjour! Here's my little weekly update about what I have learned and felt. I love Montréal so much. I am so grateful for the friends we have made here and the people who are like family! We have so much in the works, being a missionary is the best. This week I was reminded of a prayer that one of my favorite kids said back in Lévis. We went over to his house one day to see how he was doing, he had watched his cat get ran over on his way to school earlier that morning. Donovan is the sweetest boy I've probably ever met and he loved his cat so much. It was so sad, but as we prayed together he said something will always stick with me. He said "thank you God for this medium day." After having probably one of the hardest days of his little life he was still able to show gratitude and see good in his day. It was such a humble prayer and I aspire to have that kind of perspective. This week we had quite a few medium moments. Those moments where we don't see the...

Salut - January 10, 2022

Salut! Another week! These weeks just seem to be getting faster and faster. Like always, we had so much service this week, I've never counted the hours before but this week we had 32. Usually, we aren't supposed to do over 10 hours of service but we are the exception. That being said, our area is doing so good. I can't explain it, because the success we are seeing doesn't make sense with the amount of time we have to do our missionary work. But that just continues to show me that this is God's work, and He is the one that makes it happen! Somehow we were able to have so many lessons this week, and our members were available to join us. Technology is such a blessing. We are busier than we were before the lockdown, which is so amazing. Also, I just want to give a huge thank you to all you moms. Since being on the housing team I have really come to know how much work it takes to have a clean apartment. We had to clean some apartments this week that were just disgusti...

Bonne Année 2022 - January 3, 2022

Bonjour tout le monde! So much happened this week. It was one of the best weeks so far. I had a lot of experiences this week that I want to share quickly, this email will be a bit jumbled but it's a good representation of what my week was like haha! We had an experience with one of our friends that really strengthened my faith in prayer. She reached out to us about a scary situation she was in and we spent a lot of time trying to get her help and make sure she was safe. I know that God knows each of His children and our unique situations. I know there is help beyond the veil and power in praying by name for their heavenly aide. Sister Chatterley and I were able to feel so much peace despite the uncertainty and I know that prayer brings real comfort. We had a few lessons this week with our friends and we were able to have some members there that really connected with them. My testimony of member work has grown so much. They make all the difference in lessons! I am so grateful for...

Bonjour mes amis!! MERRY CHRISTMAS!! This week was so good. We got to spread so much Christmas joy. Despite the restrictions that are being put in place, the work is moving forward and we are finding ways to serve still. We woke up at 5h30 one day this week to go caroling at the metro station with some of the missionaries. Sister Roberts arranged it all and it was so much fun. We gave out hot chocolate and cookies and sang Christmas songs, so many people stopped to vidéo us and they were so surprised when they found out we were giving the cookies away for free. It was one of my favorite experiences. One of the highlights of this week was meeting with the aldib family! They speak Arabic and are learning french, and I love them with my whole heart. Their whole family was so shocked at how tall I am. They made me stand up and measure with the whole fam haha! It was so funny! This year I wanted to do something special for Christmas, so each day leading up to Christmas I wrote down a ...

Bonjour bonjour! This week was so amazing! We were so busy and saw so many miracles! We had a really cool experience with week with one of our friends Fadi, we met him through Facebook. We were able to give Him a Book of Mormon and he has so many questions. It is so cool to see how God is preparing people here! It was an experience I will never forget because the whole time he was talking I could feel the love that God has for him. It was really special because I could see his potential, and how many lives he can influence. I know that God sees the people we can become and I'm so grateful for the Atonement of Jesus Christ that allows us to become better each day. I hope you all have the most amazing Christmas! I love you so much! À tantôt! - sœur hardy - highlights - we made a TON of cookies to give to our ward for Christmas! It was so much fun, the Hochelaga family is so special - we sang a song in french for our ward Christmas sacrament meeting! I have no clue how Sœur Cha...

Fast Week - December 13, 2021

Image
Hello everybody! I hope you have had the best week! This week flew by so fast. We have been so busy and so much happened! Our week started out with our power going off, but it got fixed before we froze so no worries there! This week the weather was crazy, one day it's snowing and freezing cold, the next day it was warm and sunny, and then we had rain all day. We even had some wind so it felt like home for a couple days! We set up another apartment this week and it was a blast. Sister Chatterley and I decided to prove our strength by carrying the couch up four floors, for some reason we both got the giggles and couldn't stop laughing the whole way. That happens a lot with us and I love it! This week was a difficult week for lots of our friends, they have all had some really unexpected challenges so that has been sad. But it has been so special read scriptures with them and point them to the Savior during their hard times. 3 Nephi 18:24 highlights - exhanges! We got to g...

Roberts' Daughters - December 6, 2021

Allô allô! Man alive this week was crazy busy! We did so much service setting up apartments and also had the craziest night full of miracles. We practically live at the mission office. This week we were there every morning around 9 and didn't get home until super, so it's a lot of work but we love it! It's been hard not having a ton of time to devote to our area but the work is still moving forward, and that is because it is God's work! We have been preparing kits for the apartment all week and this week we got to set one up! We got to go on a little road trip with the Roberts and it was so much fun! They are my favorite people ever! Sister Roberts called us her daughters on accident and it was the cutest thing, best compliment ever. Thursday night we got home around 7 and only had 2 hours to do all the work we needed to do. But those two hours were packed with miracles. We got two calls from friends we have been trying to reach, talked with a member, visited our fri...
