Bonne Année 2022 - January 3, 2022
Bonjour tout le monde!
So much happened this week. It was one of the best weeks so far. I had a lot of experiences this week that I want to share quickly, this email will be a bit jumbled but it's a good representation of what my week was like haha!
We had an experience with one of our friends that really strengthened my faith in prayer. She reached out to us about a scary situation she was in and we spent a lot of time trying to get her help and make sure she was safe. I know that God knows each of His children and our unique situations. I know there is help beyond the veil and power in praying by name for their heavenly aide. Sister Chatterley and I were able to feel so much peace despite the uncertainty and I know that prayer brings real comfort.
We had a few lessons this week with our friends and we were able to have some members there that really connected with them. My testimony of member work has grown so much. They make all the difference in lessons! I am so grateful for the Hochelaga ward and their focus on missionary work. They created a mission plan for this year and it blows me away! I am SO grateful for their commitment, it is so motivating and uniting.
The housing elders were sick this week so Sister Chatterley and I did all the housing jobs. Usually, the elders do the heavy lifting with the couches and appliances so that was fun. We even got to drive the truck by ourselves and sisters usually don't get to drive the truck!
I got to see a book of mormon in braille! That was a highlight for sure.
Sister Roberts shared the gospel at her nail salon and we were able to give the guy a book of mormon with our testimonies written in it!
A little update on the covid situation here, we are basically on lockdown again. We can't meet with anyone I person and we have a 10pm curfew. Church is on zoom for the next month and lots of restaurants and services have been closed or limited. With the new restrictions, since we aren't able to meet with people outside of our household us sisters won't be able to get the sacrament for a while. Sunday morning all the sisters serving in Québec had a zoom call with President and Sister Harkness. It was such an amazing call. Sister Harkness is so profound. Everything she says I wish I could have it written down. They were answering all of our questions and we were talking about the uncertainty with our situation right now, but we are moving forward in faith. Like in 1 Nephi 4:6-7 "And I was led by the Spirit, not knowing beforehand the things which I should do... Nevertheless I went forth", we are moving forward with faith, trusting that the Lord will prepare a way for us.《This is my faith. My feet walk that way, my knees kneel that way, my mind thinks that way.》- Sister Harkness. This was one of the most encouraging and motivating meetings ever. I know that God will lead us through this time and I have already seen miracles start to blossom here. It was such a special Sunday because although I wasn't able to renew my covenants through the ordinance of the sacrament, I was able to really reflect on my baptismal covenants and the blessings that they have brought me. I felt renewed as I recommitted myself through prayer, my scripture study, and my will to serve Him with all my heart, soul and mind. I am so grateful to be a missionary. 2022 is going to be the best year.
I hope you all had an amazing new years and Christmas holidays! I am so grateful for your examples and prayers. I love you so much!
