Fish in the Lake - September 13, 2021

Image
Bonjour mes amis! Okay quick story time. One day we were at this beautiful park with tons of trails, there were so many people it was so fun to see! It was my turn to start a conversation and we were walking toward this group of four boys who were obviously going fishing. They had their shiny rods, nets, coolers, tackle boxes, everything! I'm just setting the scene here for the embarrassing moment I had! As I walked up to them the only thing I could say was "is there fish in this lake?". They quickly realized I didn't know much french and my companion helped me out! I only tell that story because one, it was a hilarious moment that I don't want to forget, and two because I would not have done that three weeks ago! I have already seen myself grow so much, not in my language ability necessarily (although I hope so) but in my effort to try! I have learned so much about having the faith to act, and relying on Jésus' help! I know that through faith in Him, we can...

Awake About Jesus - September 6, 2021

Bonjour tout le monde! Life in Lévis is blessed. Every day is filled with experience and learning, it's hard to know what to write about! So here's a little update, our mission is now allowed to street contact! So we can share the gospel on the street! The people here are so nice, it's fun talking with them. We've had some interesting experiences and I've definitely gained some funny mission experiences! I really should take the time to write them down because I don't want to forget them! Back to street contacting, sometimes it's hard to share something that is so important to me so casually, I want to show these people how much the gospel means to me and how much I love them in a natural way! One night this week as we were out walking, we started talking to this cute old man. He asked us a question that I've been pondering all week! It was "What made you awake about Jesus?" and I cannot stop thinking about it! I think it's a lifelong pr...

Lévis Bound ! - August 30, 2021

Image
What a week! So much has happened this week I hope I can remember it all! I flew to Montreal on Tuesday with 10 other missionaries! That night we went to the mission home to meet with President and Sister Harkness. They are absolutely incredible. I felt the spirit so strong in their home and I'm so grateful to be serving in this mission. The missionaries here are so amazing, I have so much to learn from them. I am so excited to finally be here! My trainer is sœur Gibb from Edmonton and she is an angel. She has been SO helpful and loving. I feel so blessed to have her as my trainer. She is the kindest. Right now we are covering 3 branches, one in Lévis! They call it the paradise, I love it so much! Québec is absolutely beautiful, the buildings and flowers make me so happy! The people here are incredible. Missionary work is blossoming in Lévis because of the members. It has been so humbling to see. This Sunday we went to church at the Centre de congrès, it's basically just a b...

MTC Grad - August 21, 2021

Bonjour tout le monde! Holy cow what a week. My heart is so full. This was my last week of the home mtc with my district, I am going to miss them so much. It's insane how much I have changed in these past 6 weeks. My testimony has been strengthened and my love for Jesus Christ has increased so much. I never could've imagined how much I would come to love the missionaries in my district, they have had such a big impact on me. We became so close, they're like a little family to me. Starting at a computer screen for 8+ hours a day was so worth it. They are all such amazing missionaries and I feel so blessed to have been in the district I was! It was a bittersweet goodbye! I'm getting ready to fly out on Tuesday! The mtc flew by, I can't believe I have already finished a month and a bit of my mission. I think one of the most important things I learned in the mtc was the importance of loving people. Loving people the way God loves them. My mission purpose is so much de...

One Week Left in the Hardy MTC - August 14 2021

Image
Bonjour mes amis!! Welcome back to another update from Soeur Hardy. I hope you all had a happy week! These weeks just keep getting faster. I have one week left in the mtc and then I fly out. It went by so fast, I can't even believe it. I am so grateful for everything I have learned and felt through this experience. It has been very busy, but I wouldn't want it any other way! My testimony of this gospel has been strengthened so much and I have gained an even deeper love for my Saviour and for all my brothers and sisters here on this earth. This week was the best week yet. For real, we got the best news. My companions' reassignment got cancelled!! SO SHE IS COMING TO MONTREAL! I cried the happiest tears when I found out. She would've been amazing in Texas, but I'm so glad she's coming to Montreal. She has seriously been one of the biggest blessings of my mtc experience. I am so stoked to meet her in real life! It's going to be the best reunion. God is so ...

God Is Aware - August 7, 2021

Bonjour mes amis!! These weeks are flying by so fast. It's crazy. I just got my flight plans this week so that is exciting! I'm flying out to Montreal in just over two weeks! I cannot wait! Although, two more weeks of language learning isn't nearly enough for me. It's a bit intimidating to think that I'll be in the field that soon, but I'm so excited. I've really learned how to rely on the spirit through the MTC. There's now way I would be able to understand and learn this much without help. Brookie lan's birthday was this week! Sweet sixteen! I am so happy I was able to be home for that. Having this extra time with my family has been such a blessing. Also I'm so proud of her for passing her drivers, now I have another companion to drive me around! Yayyy! I hope you know how amazing you are sis, love you tons. Here's a quote for you all, it's one of my favs. "Those who leave everything in God's hands will eventually see God...

Cheerful Obedience - July 31, 2021

Bonjour tout le monde!! I hope you all had an amazing week! The home MTC is the best because I am still able to spend a little bit of time with my friends and family. That has been such a blessing!  This week we started full french immersion classes. It's been hard but I have already learned so much french in these past couple days. My teachers are amazing at helping us understand their questions. Honestly it's a miracle that I am understanding as much as I am (which isn't a ton haha), but I know God will continue to help me learn this language as I work for it! My mom took a bit of french in highschool and has been using it all the time at home, so that's been super fun for me! I'm never sure if she's saying an actual french word, or just using a french accent when she speaks english! Either way I love it!  My companion and I taught our first lesson in french this week. AHHHH. It was crazy. I definitely wasn't ready to have a full on conversati...
