Bonjour !!
This was a really good week, we had some memorable experiences. One of my very favorite parts of this week was our lesson with José and his kids!
We started teaching him about the Book of mormon and how it came to be when he stopped us and started telling us the story of the restoration. It was so incredible to see how he had already received a testimony of Joseph Smith through the first few pages. The lesson was basically him teaching us, is was SO COOL. Their family has been prepared and I'm so excited to see how they progress.
Exchanges with Sister Davis was a blast! I love being able to learn so much from the amazing missionaries here. Also it has been blazing hot, and the air is so thick because of humidity. We are soaking it in and definitely sweating it out haha!
Daniela made my whole week when she said 《I don't listen to rap music, I just listen to music of God.》she's 9, and she's the coolest. I think she is what the scriptures refer to when they tell us to become like a little child.
This week we had an incredible Sunday school lesson about trials, and why God allows afflictions. One of the members brought up something that I really loved and maybe someone else needs it! Job 23:10 says 《But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.》She shared the process of how gold needs to be heated and put under pressure to remove all the impurities, and that is why we are sometimes given trials, to refine and purify us. She then told us that if it is heated too high, even gold can burn. God knows our different levels of what we need and what we can withstand. I loved that perspective. There's a little pensée spiritual for this week:)
I LOVE YOU ALL!! Have a happy week!
